I have been fortunate enough to hit a couple gamewinners in my lifetime. I mean pure gamewinners when there is no time left on the clock.
Of course one was an intramural game. But the other was a legit high school game. Double overtime and I hit the game winning layup. Alright, not a 3 pointer, but still a gamewinner.
A few of our athletes had a good week last week, so let’s start off with someone who did hit a gamewinner:
Gabby Mahaffey is a freshman playing for DeSales varsity soccer team. They were playing their rival Watterson, which has a few of our athletes as well. Gabby had probably a highlight of her young high school career by hitting the game winning goal for a 2-1 victory. I can only imagine how excited she was.
I mentioned Preston Eisnaugle a couple weeks ago, but he again made the area top performances for quarterbacks this past weekend. Unfortunately, his Jonathan Alder team lost, but he threw for over 300 yards, a touchdown, and ran for a touchdown.
Finally, DJ Brown scored a goal for his Watterson soccer team, but they too also lost. Hoping his team gets a few more wins under their belt.
I try to keep track of as many of our athletes as I can, but they are mainly the high school ones and I obviously miss some. I would love to share about your athlete’s success. Please feel free to share any of your athlete’s successes this fall and we will get them in as soon as we can.
