Track athletes, especially sprinters, need to work hard with their training in the off-season if they want to see a drop in their times. We wanted to recognize three athletes who were nominated for the Central Ohio Track Athlete of the Year for 2021.
Anna Kessler (left) of Bishop Watterson, Grace Jenkins (top right) of Bishop Watterson, and Raegan Ernst (bottom right of Dublin Jerome) were all nominated for the Central Ohio Track Athlete of the Year 2021.
We have found that with track athletes, you really need to get after it in the off-season to be faster the next season. Not all of it is track work. The strength program we put together for these track athletes combined with plyometrics, sets the stage for when we implement speed power and mechanical drills.
The results are eye-popping drops in times.
All three had outstanding seasons and made it to the state track meet.
